Answer: The project about improvement in Business Development Services (BDS) provisioning for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Fruit and Vegetable Cluster, Pune.

Answer: This is a joint initiative of The World Bank, DFID, KfW, GTZ and SIDBI

Methodology & Target Group:

 

Question: What is the project implementation methodology?

Answer: To understand the different pressure points of the BDS development, a cluster mapping (diagnostic study) will clearly bring out main stakeholders interested in the development of conducive environment for BDS services. The BDS market will be understood in actionable steps.

 

This cluster mapping, business plan evolution, and implementation exercise will be based on PACA (Participatory Appraisal of Competitive Advantage) analysis. The PACA involves a virtuous circle which is initiated with learning and growth interspersed with feedback from participants throughout the process. The Critical Success Factors (CSFs) defined through this analysis would facilitate assessment of the quality and extent to which the cluster is expected to evolve and strengthen by way of improvement in business retention capacities through higher BDS sustainability & involvement.

Answer: The MSMEs in Pune and nearby areas (Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar and Satara) are covered under project, however BDS providers and other support institutions outside pune are to be linked .Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise involved in Fruit and Vegetable processing, making spices and RTE?RTC product are in target group.
